1.04 - Put Out Or Get Out Ashley: So, you gonna tell me about your night out with your new friend? Spencer: She has a name, y'know. Ashley: Oh, yeah, she has a lot of names. Ones with, like, four and five letters. Spencer: How many letters does "I'm allowed to have other friends" have? Ashley: All I'm saying is she's bad news. I'd steer clear if I were you. Spencer: Y'know, some people might've told me the same thing about you. Ashley: Whatever. Okay, who? Spencer: The entire school, but that's not the point. You know, it doesn't mean that she doesn't deserve to have friends. Ashley: You are so clueless sometimes. You do know she's gay, right? Spencer: What? She is not. You need to reboot your gay-dar. Ashley: Whatever. Don't kid yourself. It's better than your old breeder-meter. Spencer: What is it that every gay person is so sure that everybody else is gay? Ashley: It's not everybody else. Just the gay ones. [Spencer is getting dressed in her room while Ashley reads a magazine on her bed. Paula comes into Spencer's room] Paula: Almost dressed, hon? Spencer: Uh, yeah. Getting there. Paula: Good. So, Ashley, are you ready for the show? Ashley: No, actually I'm not a big fan- [Ashley looks at Spencer] Ashley: of the D.J. Paula: Oh. Well, make yourself at home. Dinner will be ready in about an hour. Ashley: Thanks. Paula: Ashley, this is an adorable dress. Yeah. Ashley: Oh, thank you. Paula: It's really cute. Spencer: You should wear it to dinner. Ashley: You should wear it on your date! Spencer: Oh! It's not a date! Ashley: Really? Then why is that the millionth outfit you tried on? Spencer: I just want to look nice. There might be some cute guys there. Ashley: Oh, good. They can watch Kelly feel you up. Ashley: Right. It's for the cute guys. Then why are you putting the platforms on that I let you borrow? You know that they give you blisters and they're the last thing the cute guys are gonna notice. Look, all I'm saying is you're going to be on your feet the whole time. Wait. Unless you want Kelly to sweep you off your feet! Spencer: It is not a date! [Spencer throws a shoe at Ashley] Spencer: It's not a date. Paula: Hi, Kelly. Ashley: It is so a date. Ashley: So, how was your night out? Spencer: You mean my date? You were right. She was into me. I mean, she didn't get into me. Ashley: Okay, okay. I get it. Spencer: She definitely wanted to be more than friends. Ashley: So do you like her? Spencer: What's not to like? Being stalked into the bathroom, driven to make out points, and accused of being a tease. Ashley: Did she kiss you? Spencer: Tried to. Ashley: Let me guess, she took you to Griffith park. Spencer: Uh-huh. Ashley: Then put on her sexy little music and tried to make the big move? Spencer: Yeah, how did you know that? Ashley: She pulled the same lame maneuver on me last year. Spencer: Why didn't you say something? Ashley: I seem to recall that I did. Spencer: I'm sorry I didn't listen to you, but I just thought you were being- Ashley: Jealous? Spencer: No, I mean- Ashley: Well, I was jealous. You know, like in a friend sort of way. Forgive me for being so needy? Spencer: Only if you forgive me for not trusting you. Ashley: Forgiven. [Ashley and Spencer hug. Paula sees this while she is coming down the stairs to bring down a pillow and blanket for Ashley] Paula: It's getting late. Spencer: Uh, we're going to bed now. Come on. Paula: Yeah, actually, I'm making up a bed for Ashley down here. Spencer: My parents can be so annoying. Ashley: At least they're here. |
