Therapist: You know, a lot of girls, when they feel their mothers have abandoned them or put them on the backburner, they turn to another girl for that maternal support. Spencer: Maternal? You so don't know Ashley.

Spencer: I can't find my lipgloss. My mom's been like going through my makeup and jewelry and stuff lately. She's going through this weird "I-wanna-be-young-and-sexy" stage. Ashley: Is she buying lingerie, too? Spencer: Yeah, we hit the mall yesterday and she spent crazy money. Ashley: Mmh, maybe she's having an affair. Spencer: No way. Ashley: Well, maybe she's planning one. Here, try this. Just a hint of pink. It won't leave a traceable color on someone who may not wear your shade. Spencer: Hey, I never thought about that. Two girls, two shades of lipstick. Ashley: If you're planning on kissing another girl, you may want clear gloss, you know with like an oil or some kind of moisterizing balm. Spencer: I have so much to learn. Ashley: Lucky you have me. That looks really good on you, almost as good as it looks on me. Spencer: Aww, now you have me wearing your shade, how convenient, just in case we end up in some spontaneous lip-lock. Ashley: Trust me, it won't be spontaneous.
Glen: Spencer, I have to talk to you. Spencer: Okay, what's wrong? There's practically foam coming out of your mouth. Glen: There's nothing wrong with me, but the word is there's something really wrong with you. Spencer: You're weirding me out. Glen: Madison told me that she heard you and Ashley talking in the bathroom about kissing each other, underwear and all kinds of gay stuff. Is that true? Spencer: Before I answer that, I just wanna say that you suck. You should be defending me, I'm your sister. I get the benefit of the doubt over that gold-digging booty call. Glen: It's only relevant if it's not true, is it true? Spencer: Look, what she heard could have been misinterpreted as that but it doesn't mean that it's entirely true. Glen: Spencer, I can see it on your face, you have a thing for Ashley. You know she has a reputation of breaking in girls? You're just another notch on her headboard. Spencer: I don't believe that. Glen: Lots of people around her have known her a lot longer than you have. God, if she turns you gay, it's gonna kill mom and dad. Spencer: First of all, you can't turn someone gay. And secondly, you didn't hear anything of this from me and you're ratting me our to mom and dad? Thanks for the lesson of loyalty.
Ashley: So what? Spencer: Yeah, maybe it's so what to you, you're used to being talked about, frontpage trash, I'm not. Ashley: Ouch. Look, for the record, I'm not used to being trashed. Listen, it's Madison, okay, she hates me. Of course she's gonna try and use us to break us up. Spencer: Break us up? We are not a couple, Ashley. Look, I don't know what it is we are but I just wanna figure it out first before everyone else tries to crucify me. Ashley: You know what, I'm sorry this is just so terrible for you. But what hurts even more is the fact that you don't want anyone to think it's true, even if it is a lie. Glen: I want you to quit hitting on my sister. Ashley: Did she ask you to do this? Glen: No, but this isn't what she is. Ashley: What she is? This is about you, not her. And, uh, unless I hear it from her, we're good. Glen: Look, she's telling you, okay? YOu just don't wanna hear it. And if you really care about her, you'll back off.
Aiden: Hey, are you sure about this? Spencer: Stop asking me this. I'm here with you, aren't I? Aiden: Who are you trying to convinve, me or you? Spencer: Look, I really like you and I wanna be with you, it's just, it would make things so much easier. Aiden: For who? Maybe everybody else but not for you. It's okay, you are who are. Spencer: But what if I'm not ready to be who I am? Aiden: You are, right, you're gonna be fine.
Spencer: Who are you and does Ashley know you're ripping her off? Paige: Let me guess, Spencer? Spencer: How'd you know? Paige: You called, remember? And for someone Ashley didn't wanna talk to she talked about you all night. Spencer: She did? Paige: Yep. Guess she's no longer inbetween. Spencer: What? Paige: I get it. [Paige leaves and Spencer sits down on the bed] Spencer: I'm sorry, I was freaked out. I didn't wanna deal with being gay but I couldn't deal with not being with you. Ashley: I'm not easy. Spencer: That's not what I heard. Ashley: I meant to be with. Spencer: I know. But we're already friends and that's the hard part. So let's just start there and see what happens. [Ashley puts her head onto Spencer's lap]
